Riley's Garage
Project Overview
Riley's Garage is an environment built for Game Party Champions, the Wii U party title where players compete across a variety of mini-games in themed venues. The garage is designed as a representation of a teenager's home garage — a space layered with the traces of Riley, his friends, and his family using it for all kinds of activities: hobbies, hangouts, sports, weekend projects. Gameplay-wise, it serves as the venue for the game's air hockey mini-game, with the table dropped into the center of an environment that already feels lived-in and familiar.
Role
My role on Riley's Garage spanned art direction, lighting, atmosphere, asset creation and placement, animation, various modeling and asset texturing, optimization and processing, set dressing, material networks, decals, heads-up display and UI, and VFX creation and placement. I owned end-to-end look development for the venue, tuning every visual layer to fit the Wii U's performance targets while capturing the specific character of a teenager's garage — the environmental storytelling that shows a family and friend group actually spend time here, framed around the air hockey table as the gameplay focal point.
