John is the type of developer that shows extreme ownership. His worldbuilding and environment craft are top notch, and he’s able to craft games in a diverse range of styles — from more cel-shaded, anime look and feels to hyper realistic, high fidelity experiences.
I managed John directly while he worked on Horizon. He consistently demonstrated strong technical proficiency, and he was frequently entrusted with high-profile deliverables such as assets for public-facing events and executive demonstrations.
John led the development of complex 3D environment assets with a high level of ownership, quality, and reliability. He quickly became known as one of the team’s go-to problem solvers — someone people trusted to navigate ambiguity and keep projects moving forward.
John was the lead environment artist for the studio, responsible for a huge swath of our art content and visual appeal. He has excellent 3D skills and over the course of our time together developed technical, leadership, and look-dev experience.
John is an incredibly skilled artist, but what sets him apart is his technical art expertise, and level-headed, but enthusiastic approach to complex moonshot projects. He consistently delivers the highest quality work and owns the process fully.
John delivers top quality work, and is always looking for ways to improve. He’s one of the hardest working colleagues I’ve known, and puts in exceptional effort to deliver exemplary assets for his team. He would be an impactful addition to any team.
